Watford's Magical Maze welcomes town's bravest!

Here ye, here ye! Watford’s Borough Council’s Magical Maze has arrived, beckoning valiant explorers from the four corners of Watford to help untangle its mysteries.

Intrepid explorers will scour the labyrinth for artefacts belonging to the mythical Eustace II de Watford and his wife, Lady Margaret – who, legend has it, became lost in the maze some 800 years ago.

This brand-new event is organised by Watford Borough council, is free for all families, and features an exciting competition – in which audacious knights and inquisitive princesses must traverse the maze, and find Eustace’s missing belongings. Any successful souls will receive a highly-coveted prize, as well as a photo certificate to commemorate the day. They will also be entered into a prize draw – with the chance to win an iPad.

The Magical Maze will be located on The Parade (by the pond), and will run between Saturday 29 May and Sunday 6 of June, from 11am until 5pm each day. Only groups of up to six people will be permitted into the maze at a time, and there will be a socially distanced queue system in place to ensure visitor safety.

The Magical Maze will be part Watford’s Summer of Fun – a series of sensational events, which includes Big Bandstand, Big Jiveswing Festival, Colourscape and more.

Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said “These special events help bring Watford residents together, and after so long of being unable to see one another, it’s important that we can come together in safe ways such as this. The upcoming Summer of Fun events are the perfect opportunity for this, and I can’t wait to see many of our residents there!”
