Watford Market set to undergo exciting new improvements

Works are underway to revitalise the current space and trading units and attract a new generation of customers to the marketplace which has been a key part of the town’s history for centuries. .

Working with Market Asset Management (MAM), all vacant units will be renovated, there’ll be better signage and signposting that highlights the diverse and eclectic retail offer inside and refreshed branding and new planting will enhance the character and ambiance of the space.

The council has committed £250,000 to help with the makeover which also aims to attract new independent traders into the market community. Other uses for the revamped market space are currently being explored including the creation of a community café and seating area and pop-up shops where a range of different traders can temporarily sell their goods.
