Runners World: 5 Top Tips for finding the right running shoes

As part of Wellness Week, here's five top tips for finding the perfect running shoes for you courtesy of Jason Steel, manager of Runners World at 164 High Street.

1. GAIT ANALYSIS

Visit your local running store who will take time to analyse the way you run using a treadmill and video to advise on the right type of shoes for you.

2. INJURIES!

These often appear when running in the wrong type of shoes for your feet. You will need either support shoes if there is excess movement at the arch/ankles or Neutral if your alignment is good.

3. COMFORT & FIT

Make sure the shoes you choose are comfortable right from the start.

4. SIZE

Expect to go up at least a size in running shoes as they come up small and you need space at the end for your toes to flex and expand.

5. COLOUR

In fact...don’t worry too much about the colour, the function should be the number 1 priority!
