Calling all Artisans, Creators and Makers

Watford Borough Council is seeking out creative individuals or groups who are looking to turn their creative talents into a business.

We want to hear from a wide range of creators, whether you have skills in making pastries, artisans loaves of bread, upcycling, knitting, sewing, crafting, jewellery making, painting or more. You could already be gifting your creations to family and friends or have a business that you would like to expand either way, we want to hear from you.

Our goal is to help local creators make their products locally, alongside other creatives, as well as providing an affordable shared selling space in the Town Centre, pop-up or market stall.

Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor said:

“Small businesses are vital for Watford’s local economy and our town’s success. I am determined to do all I can to support them. We must work with them to make sure that they have the right space and skills they need to succeed and grow.

The council wants to support artisans, creators and makers who may currently be working from home or those who have a burning desire to turn their skills into a business. We want to provide opportunities for more independent business in our town to grow and flourish by providing a shared space for them to create, collaborate and eventually sell their products.

The council is also providing free of charge business advice, training and specialist support through the Watford Business Recovery and Growth programme for any Watford residents looking to start or grow a business.”
